“Matkonation” was born on November 2009 just a few month after my second son was born. During my maternity leave I decided to join forces with my friend and colleague Shaily Lipa and start a food blog. We wanted to create a blog that is professional both in its recipes and photography.

A few months after we started we felt that blogosphere belongs to mostly English websites and “Matkonation” is good enough to be part of that world. We invited food stylist and English speaker to join us and together we launched the English version.

Unfortunately Shaily had to leave the blog for personal reasons and Deanna and I continued.

Today “Matkonation” posts a new recipe every week, is recipe is also features on the leading news website “Ynet”. We have 1000 followers and around 15,000 entries per month from all around the world. In 2010 we were selected one of five best food blogs in Israel by “Mako”.

We hope to continue posting great recipes and photographing high quality pictures that are not influenced by client needs.

בלוג מתכוניישן נולד בנובמבר 2009. במהלך חופשת הלידה החלטתי להרים את הכפפה וביחד עם שי לי (מתכונאית וחברה) להתחיל בלוג אוכל שיהיו בו לא רק מתכונים אלה צילומים מקצועיים של אוכל. ישבנו עודד (בעלי) ואני וניסינו לפענח את עולם הבלוגים. אני עיצבתי את המסכים ועודד קודד.

לאחר מספר חודשים הרגשנו שהבלוגספירה כל כך גדולה ומתכוניישן מספיק איכותי שהיינו רוצות שיהיה גם באנגלית. חברנו לדיאנה לינדר שהיא גם סטייליסטית גם מתכונאית וגם דוברת אנגלית ויחד בנינו את הבלוג המקביל באנגלית.

לאחר מספר חודשים לצערנו, שי לי נאלצה לעזוב מסיבות אישיות והמשכנו דיאנה ואני.

היום הבלוג שלנו מעלה מכון שבועי בכל יום רביעי שעולה במקביל גם באתר YNET. הוא נבחר לאחד מחמשת אתרי האוכל הטובים ע”י מאקו ויש לנו יותר מ 12,000 כניסות בחודש + 800 מנויים.

אנחנו מקוות להמשיך ולייצר חומרים איכותיים שאינם תלויי לקוחות ולשתף כמה שיותר אנשים באהבה שלנו לאוכל ואסתטיקה.
